All our Aquatics programs are open to Members of the club as well as Non-Members and welcomes swimmers of all ability levels. Non-Members can participate in programs at a higher rate, please call for pricing information.
Clients are usually children age 2-8 who are learning basic skills meant to help them navigate the pools more safely. Many already know some basics and now want to be more efficient in the water, perhaps learn the strokes. 30-minute Private, Semi-Private* and Group* lessons offered Monday through Saturday. Adult Swim Lessons
These adults are either summoning their courage after years of ‘wanting to swim’ but not taking the plunge, or they know how to get across the pool just not without being winded and having their form fall apart. 30-minute Private lessons by appointment.
Lessons for Competitive Swimmers
Clients are swimmers who have demonstrated an ability to swim each of the four competitive strokes and who would like instruction from a professional coach focusing on proper technique, increased efficiency, racing strategies and starts & turns. Often swimmers are on the year-round team or are preparing for a team (summer, high school). Lessons are also for adults preparing for masters, triathlons or open water events. Video analysis can be provided for an additional fee. 30-minute Private and Semi-Private* lessons by appointment.

PASA Swim Team
Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics is a member team of USA Swimming. There are a number of PASA sites which operate independently but work together to give young people the opportunity to grow as swimmers and people to achieve success in life and in the pool. We are PASA Alpine Hills. Located in beautiful Portola Valley, we train at Alpine Hills Swim and Tennis Club. Our team is comprised of roughly 150 swimmers. We cater to all types of abilities and skill levels.

Alpine Hills’ Water Polo
clinic is a year-round program that teaches kids the fundamentals of Water
Polo. The clinic starts off with teaching the basics and eventually works up to
full scrimmages (practice games). We welcome both boys and girls, at any skill
level that meets the prerequisites. To register please contact Chuck Woo at

Swimming is fun, social, and a life-long activity that can reduce stress, help maintain a healthy weight and promote cardiovascular fitness. The written workouts are meant to be challenging for experienced swimmers and are modified by the coach so that each swimmer is challenged for the duration of the workout. The coaches work on proper technique, and incorporate drills, kicking, pulling and unique sets into the workouts. Considerations are made for swimmers’ limitations (injury, fitness level, etc.)
Deep Water Exercise (DWE)
Deep Water Exercise is a course that trains in; you guessed it, deep water. It is a running exercise course that avoids any weight bearing, due to the body’s suspension in the water. This course is perfect for: those looking to accelerate their recovery from injuries, those looking to avoid any weight bearing exercises, or those looking for high intensity training without risk of injury.
Aqua-fit is a program for all adults that want a twist on their exercise routine, you can’t beat the refreshing challenge of cross-training in water. Enjoy a fun, cardiovascular and strength training workout in the warmth and comfort of water. The non-impact exercises are great for people with any knee, low back or joint discomfort. But just because this class is low impact, don’t think it’s less work! You’re guaranteed to get your heart rate up and burn plenty of calories.
Mini Mantas are swimmers age 4-7 who are excited about joining the swim team, but who aren’t yet able to complete a lap on their own in the Main Pool. They learn in the Teaching Pool in a group setting and the instructors teach from in the water. Mini Mantas will learn the basics of the four competitive strokes.
As a way of welcoming them into the larger Summer Swim Team (Mantarays) the Mini Mantas will receive a team swim cap, team shirt, appear in the team photo, join the team for the Ice Cream Social and swim in one of the home meets!

Alpine’s member-only summer swim team, the Mantarays, has a long history of bringing swimmers and their families together for a summer filled with healthy fun, team building, exciting competition, excellent coaching and great memories.
Summer Swim School (Ages 3-5)
Summer Swim School is a week-long half-day program for our young swimmers age 3-5. It focuses on promoting safe and fun aquatic recreation, while learning to swim. Each day we'll conduct a 30-minute group lesson as well as 45 minutes of organized water games. Swimmers will also enjoy a snack and have daily activity and craft time.
